Dialers in Salesforce for real estate teams.
RingCentral, Aircall, Dialpad and Twilio all log calls into Salesforce, but Salesforce’s Open CTI, which many of them use, reaches end of life on February 28, 2028. Here’s how each dialer connects, which edition it needs, what a wholesaling team should log, and how to plan for 2028. The system around the calls (queues, outcomes and a caller scorecard) is in cold-calling team setup.
- Salesforce says Open CTI reaches end of life on February 28, 2028, and existing implementations stop working after that. Salesforce Voice is the recommended replacement. source
- Many dialer integrations use Open CTI; Twilio Flex’s docs say its Salesforce integration will stop working after that date. source
- Edition matters: RingCentral supports Professional and above; Aircall and Dialpad require Enterprise or Unlimited. RingCentral · Aircall · Dialpad

How do the main dialers connect to Salesforce?
| Dialer | What it does in Salesforce | Salesforce edition | Other requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| RingCentral for Salesforce | Click to dial and click to text, automatic call and message logging, screen pops, voicemail, in-app calling | Professional and above | RingCentral Advanced or Ultra; admin install |
| Aircall | Calls in and out from Salesforce; logs details, tags and recordings; works across leads, contacts and accounts | Enterprise or Unlimited | Aircall Professional plan; same email in both systems |
| Dialpad | CTI, power dialer, call logging; SMS logged as completed tasks on the contact (not opportunities) | Enterprise or Unlimited, API enabled | Dialpad Connect, Support or Sell license |
| Twilio Flex | Agent UI inside Salesforce; click to dial, screen pop, activity logging | Not stated | Flex account; subject to the Open CTI retirement |
| Salesforce Voice | Native telephony with Amazon Connect; Salesforce’s recommended Open CTI replacement | Licensed separately | — |

What does the Open CTI retirement mean for an investor?
If your dialer runs inside Salesforce today, ask the vendor whether it uses Open CTI. Nothing breaks before February 28, 2028, but anything you build now should have a path past it. Dialpad, for example, says Dialpad for Salesforce is not being retired and lists Salesforce Voice or Dialpad Everywhere as options. source
- Ask your dialer vendor, in writing, what their post-2028 Salesforce integration is.
- Keep call outcomes in your own Salesforce fields, not only in the vendor’s objects, so reports survive a switch.
- If you’re choosing a dialer now, weigh the vendor’s 2028 plan as much as today’s features.
What should a dialer integration log for a wholesaling team?
| Field | Why |
|---|---|
| Call outcome (picklist) | Contact rate and conversion by list; see the handoff checklist |
| Call direction and duration | Separates inbound sellers from outbound dials |
| Recording link | Coaching and dispute checks |
| Missed inbound call → task | Only 2% of unanswered callers leave a voicemail; the task is the callback. See the missed call calculator |
| Attempt number | Follow-up cadence reporting; the median web lead got one contact attempt (InsideSales, 2014) |

Questions
Is Salesforce Open CTI being retired?
Yes. Salesforce Help says Open CTI reaches end of life on February 28, 2028, existing implementations stop working after that, and Salesforce Voice is the recommended replacement.
Which dialer works with Salesforce Professional Edition?
RingCentral lists Professional and above. Aircall and Dialpad require Enterprise or Unlimited.
Can Salesforce log texts from my dialer?
Some dialers do. Dialpad logs SMS as completed tasks on the contact’s activity history, but not on opportunities and not from shared lines. RingCentral logs calls and messages.
What is the best dialer for wholesalers using Salesforce?
It depends on your edition and volume. Check the Salesforce edition each vendor requires, how calls are logged, and the vendor’s plan after Open CTI ends in 2028.
