DocuSign + Salesforce for real estate investors.

DocuSign connects to Salesforce through Docusign’s own AppExchange package: you send purchase and assignment contracts from the deal record, templates fill themselves from Salesforce fields, and signed documents come back to the record. Here’s what it does, what it needs and how I set it up for wholesalers.

Short version
  • Docusign builds Docusign eSignature for Salesforce, an AppExchange package that sends agreements from Salesforce records and writes signed documents and signer data back. source
  • Templates pull record fields through merge fields, so seller name, property address and price fill themselves. source
  • Salesforce lists it as working with Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, Developer, Starter and Performance. It needs a separate Docusign subscription. source

What does DocuSign do inside Salesforce?

CapabilityWhat Docusign’s listing saysWhat I use it for in wholesaling
Send from a recordSend agreements to Salesforce contacts or any email, with messages, reminders and authenticationPurchase agreement to the seller from the deal, not from someone’s inbox
Templates with merge fields“Create agreements from Docusign templates that use Salesforce data through merge fields”Seller name, address, price and closing date typed once in Salesforce, never retyped in a PDF
Write-back“Signed documents and signer-provided data are written back to Salesforce”The signed contract lives on the deal; title, dispo and the owner all see the same file
MobileMobile-responsive signing and Salesforce mobile supportSellers sign on a phone at the kitchen table
Setup“Clicks-not-code”; the package’s tabs and objects don’t count against org limitsNo custom code needed for the basic flow

What does a contract flow look like for a wholesaler?

1. Offer accepted

The acquisitions rep clicks Send with Docusign on the deal. The purchase agreement template fills from the deal: seller, address, price, earnest money, closing date.

2. Seller signs

The signed PDF and signer data come back to the deal. I key a Flow on that write-back to move the stage to Under Contract and create the title-company task.

3. Dispo assigns

The assignment contract template goes to the end buyer from the same deal, with the assignment price and fee filled in.

4. Everything in one place

Both signed contracts sit on the deal. When a closing gets delayed or a buyer backs out, nobody has to search email for “the latest version”.

Before you build this, make sure the fields exist: contract price, assignment price, assignment fee, closing date, title company. Those are what the templates merge.

What should you check before installing?

  • A Docusign plan with the Salesforce integration. The AppExchange listing shows a published price of “starts at $30 per user per month” and a 30-day free trial (as of October 2026). source
  • Your contract templates reviewed by your attorney for each state you buy in. The integration fills fields; it doesn’t make a contract valid.
  • Which record you send from. I send from the deal (Opportunity or a custom Deal object), not the lead, so every contract stays with the property.
  • Docusign’s status-object details. I couldn’t read Docusign’s admin guide pages (they only load with JavaScript), so confirm the exact objects in the admin guide before building reports on them.

Questions

Can I send a purchase agreement from Salesforce with DocuSign?

Yes. With Docusign eSignature for Salesforce installed, you send agreements from a record using a Docusign template whose merge fields pull data from Salesforce, and the signed document is written back to Salesforce.

Does DocuSign for Salesforce work on Professional Edition?

Salesforce lists Docusign as working with Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, Developer, Starter and Performance editions.

Can a signed DocuSign contract update the deal stage?

The package writes signed documents and signer data back to Salesforce. A record-triggered Flow can react to that write-back and move the stage. Confirm which object changes in Docusign’s admin guide before you build it.

Do I need a separate DocuSign subscription?

Yes. The integration requires a Docusign plan; the AppExchange listing shows pricing and a 30-day free trial.
