Which Salesforce edition do real estate investors need?
Most real estate investing teams need Salesforce Enterprise, because it allows 200 custom objects for properties, offers and buyers, 2,000 active flows and API access for integrations. Professional can work for small teams that fit in 5 flows; Starter can’t hold property records at all. Here’s the comparison, from Salesforce’s own limits pages.
- Starter allows 0 custom objects, so it can’t hold Property, Offer or Buyer records. Fine for a solo investor tracking contacts; not a wholesaling system. source
- Professional / Pro Suite allows 50 custom objects but only 5 flows, and API access is an add-on for Professional (and shown as an add-on for Pro Suite on Salesforce’s pricing page), which many integrations need. source · source
- Enterprise is where most growing investor teams land: 200 custom objects, 2,000 active flows, API included, approvals and joined reports. source
- Don’t compare on list price. Most businesses get a discount from a Salesforce account executive based on the business and number of users.

Which edition fits which investor?
Solo investor, a few deals a year
You may not need Salesforce at all. If you do, the question is whether you need Property and Offer records; if yes, Starter won’t do it. See do I need a CRM yet? and when Salesforce is overkill.
Small team, one market, few integrations
Professional or Pro Suite can work if 5 flows cover your automation and your phone and e-signature tools support it (DocuSign and RingCentral list Professional). Count your flows before you buy.
Team with acquisitions, dispo and VAs, several lead sources
Enterprise. You’ll want more than 5 flows within months, approvals for offers above MAO, joined reports, and API access for CallRail, Google Ads conversion import, Calendly or Aircall, which require it or Enterprise outright. CallRail · Calendly
Multiple markets or a fund with investor reporting
Enterprise or Unlimited, depending on volume, sandbox needs and whether Sales Engagement cadences are worth having included.
Why do Salesforce edition names keep changing?
Salesforce repackages often. In June 2025, Agentforce 1 editions replaced Einstein 1 editions. source Third-party reports say Salesforce introduced Core, Advanced and Max editions in September 2026, with existing customers keeping their edition; I couldn’t read Salesforce’s own announcement. Either way, map your needs to the limits above (custom objects, flows, API access) and ask your account executive which current edition delivers them.

What does Salesforce cost for an investor?
I don’t publish list prices, because most businesses don’t pay them. After a conversation with a Salesforce account executive, many get a discount based on the business and the number of users. Get a quote for your exact user count and edition, then add the setup cost, before you compare with an investor CRM.
