1. Lead fields (13)
Where each lead came from, what happens next and how fast you reached the seller. The two that matter most: Lead Source required before a lead leaves New, and Next Task Date required on every open lead.
| Field name | Type | Required when | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lead Source | Picklist | Before Status can leave New | Without it, no report can tie a contract or a closed deal back to the channel that paid for it. |
| Campaign | Lookup to Campaign (or text) | Before Status can leave New, when Lead Source is a paid channel | Lead Source says which channel; Campaign says which mailer, list or ad. Spend is entered on the campaign, so cost per appointment and ROI need this link. |
| Market | Picklist | Always | Lets you compare channels and reps market by market instead of mixing a strong market with a weak one. |
| Status | Picklist | Always | One shared list of stages, so a report can count how many leads sit at each step and how long they stay there. |
| Next Task Date | Date | While the lead is open (Status is not Dead or Under Contract) | An open lead with no next date is a lead nobody is working. This field makes the gap visible and lets you block it. |
| Touch Count | Number (auto) | Never entered by hand; counted from logged calls, texts and emails to the seller | Shows how much follow-up a lead actually got before it was marked Dead or went under contract. |
